Do I need to be a Northdene patient already?
No. We'll always try to help, whether you're already registered with us or not.

Call us at 8:00am and we'll do everything we can to see you the same day. Toothache, a knocked-out tooth, swelling, or a dental injury, we're here to help.
Not registered with us yet? That's fine, we still want to help.

Dental pain rarely waits for a convenient time, and we know how distressing it can feel, especially if you're also nervous about dental treatment. Whatever's happened, call us. We'll listen, ask a few quick questions, and get you seen as soon as we possibly can.
Call us at 8:00am and we'll do everything we can to fit you in that same day. If you're not sure whether it counts as an emergency, call anyway — we'd rather reassure you than have you wait in pain.
We're here when you need us most.
Tell us what's happened and how much pain you're in. If it's before 8:00am, call us then so we can see you the same day.
A team member will ask about your symptoms so we can judge how urgently you need to be seen and what to do in the meantime.
We'll do everything we can to see you that same day. If we're fully booked, we'll always find the quickest alternative.
Your dentist will examine you, explain what's happened in plain language, and treat the underlying issue, not just relieve the symptoms.
We make sure you know what's next: Before you leave, we'll explain any follow-up care, what to watch for, and who to call if anything changes.
Time-critical
Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently with milk or saliva, never scrub it. Try to put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk or between your cheek and gum. Then call us straight away. The window for saving a tooth is short, so don't wait.

We know dental pain is stressful, and that for some patients, calling at all takes courage. Whatever's happened and however you're feeling, you'll be treated with patience, speed, and zero judgement.
No. We'll always try to help, whether you're already registered with us or not.
Call NHS 111 for advice and dental referral. If there's severe swelling affecting your breathing, difficulty swallowing, a high fever with swelling, or a serious facial injury, go to A&E or call 999, these are medical emergencies.
Cost depends on the treatment needed and whether you're an NHS or private patient. We'll always confirm this with you before any treatment begins.

You don't need to prepare anything special. If it helps, you're welcome to bring: a note of what specifically worries you (so we know before you arrive) · any previous bad experiences you'd like us to know about · a friend or family member for support · your own headphones or music. For a child: a parent or legal guardian must attend.
No. Many of our patients haven't visited for years, sometimes decades, before coming to Northdene. We focus entirely on helping you move forward from where you are now, not on what's happened before.
A stop signal is a simple hand gesture, usually raising your hand, that means pause immediately. We agree this with you before treatment begins and check in throughout, so you're always in control of what happens and when.
Yes. You're welcome to bring a friend or family member for support, for your first visit or any visit afterwards.
Yes. You can call or visit us with no obligation to book treatment. Many nervous patients prefer to talk things through first.
Your first appointment is unhurried, we'd rather take longer and have you leave feeling comfortable than rush.
Yes, dental anxiety is very common, and dental phobia affects a significant number of adults. You are not alone, and it's something we see and support every week.
